Home repairs can be a costly need, especially for seniors and disabled individuals who are on a low fixed income. This program directs groups looking for projects to individuals with minor safety and health-critical home repairs. Recipients are encouraged to share in the cost of the project if possible.

How can I help?

Below you will find a list of projects that currently need attention. Once you have looked over the list of needs and feel your group has identified a project that fits your skills, please contact our office at 334-793-6843 and reference the case number listed below.

We realize that not everyone can physically do the work or has the skills to do the job. However, there is a way that you can help. You can make a donation to help cover the cost of materials and supplies needed for the projects. No donation is too small or too large and can be made online by using a credit card or PayPal at the link below.

When making a donation, you can memorialize a loved one or pay tribute to someone while helping those in need. SARCOA will acknowledge all memorial and honorarium gifts. Please make a note in the comments section on PayPal.

She is able to pay for some materials, but cannot do the work herself.  Her needs include a ramp and a platform for the front door. She has a visually impaired husband who can help with the work.  These home improvements would allow her to safely enter and exit her home and would be greatly appreciated.

Client needs her bathtub faucets fixed if possible.  They leak water when turned on.  They may need replacement or to just be tightened. Client must use steps to enter her home. She would like a railing at her back door and laundry room door if possible, to promote safety.   She suffers from spine issues that cause her pain and difficulty standing. She will have surgery soon and is hoping to have this completed beforehand. She would be willing to help with cost of supplies.  Any help would be much appreciated.
