SenioRx/Wellness is a program for Alabamians diagnosed with chronic medical conditions requiring daily medication. The program aims to help people manage their chronic illnesses and prevent more serious health problems later in life.

Wiregrass residents with no prescription drug coverage, Medicare Part D participants in the coverage gap, and disabled individuals of any age in the 24-month Medicare waiting period  may be eligible to receive free prescription medications through the SenioRx program.

Because the high cost of prescription drugs can be a burden, we strive to reduce economic stress, promote better health and improve the quality of life for Alabama's older population by providing ways to reduce the expense of life-sustaining medications.

Commonly requested medications include Advair, Celebrex, Lantus, Aricept, Crestor, Lipitor, Actos, Cymbalta, Micardis, Azilect, Gleevec, Nexium, Benicar, Humira and Norvasc, among hundreds of others.

SenioRx is a partnership of state agencies and community organizations that assists seniors with applying for drug assistance programs that is provided by pharmaceutical manufacturers.
