The Board of Directors provides direct oversight and guidance to the Executive Director and staff of SARCOA. With the advent of the baby boomers, an active board is critical to the success of SARCOA. The Executive Director and staff are dependent on the board to provide insight, direction and involvement so that the agency may better serve the needs of the Seniors of southeast Alabama.
Each director is appointed to a three year term. All appointments are made by the seven county commissions of the region. Appointees must be a resident of the county represented and should have an interest in the Senior community as well as the ability to participate in quarterly board meetings. The Board of Directors normally meet once per quarter.
